Hello Peeps! I would like to start this posting by sending out a big Happy Birthday to my son, Garrett DeGraw! Mom sure loves you!
Now on to this weeks excitement....
I was busy BucketListing down in Twin Falls this past week while Steve was vacationing. Due to Studio timing, we are revamping things a bit on here so I can’t wait to share what 3 events coming up this weekend caught my attention. There is a little something for everyone!
Do you like Improv? I love it! I’m always intrigued watching the quick wit of some people. If you are too, Saturday night Longform Improv invades Boise. They are bringing us SUPER SQUID from the darkest depths of black box theatre. Three local comedy teams will charm the audience with improvised storytelling and lightning-quick wit. They will build a world, from scratch, in front of a live audience. This is all happening at the Gem Center for the Arts in Boise starting at 7 pm. Tickets are only $10 and go straight to the teams. Let’s help them prove that comedy can pay.
Now, for something a little more family friendly, how about Matilda? Nothing is more exciting for adults and kids alike than a musical rendition of this family favorite. Inspired by the Tony Award Winner Roald Dahl this is a fantastic musical. You can catch the show Friday or Saturday at the Nampa Civic Center. Tickets start at $24 and they do have discounts for seniors and students.
Guess what I have for you now? How about something a little unusual….like EXTREME MIDGET WRESTLING! The world’s smallest wrestlers will be competing. I have always wanted to check this out. This is an all out pro-wrestling war! Its an all ages show and its happening Saturday night at the Mardi Gras Ballroom. Tickets start at $5 with VIP and Ringside tickets available. Sounds like a wild time!
*** BucketList Adventure this Week ***
My adventure this week took me to Twin Falls, Idaho. Only about a 2 hour drive from Boise, I found the perfect day trip. AWOI offers you the chance to experience the Snake River Canyon in an exhilarating way! First they offer guided zip line tours. This is a four line course that has you soaring at 45 mph while taking in the beauty of the canyon. It is fantastic and safe even for kids. We joined two other families as we trekked around flying through the air. It was so much fun. You hike about ¼ of a mile between lines and the rest you are soaring. They provide all the equipment and their guides really know their stuff. We had a great time with Kory and Lance who told some great stories and even got me...who is scared of heights….anxious to get zipping.
After an exciting zip line adventure, we headed back to rent kayaks and paddle the Snake. They have kayaks and paddleboards for rent. They give instructions and help you get into the water. Its a relaxing float. We did hit a little bit of stormy weather, but it didn’t keep us off the water. There are plenty of spots along the Snake to stop if you want to have a picnic or just go swimming. You can rent the paddle equipment for 2 hours at a time. The AWOI staff is super friendly and their love of these sports is contagious. We spent the day sailing through the air and then paddling along one of the most beautiful spots in Idaho. We were home by 8. Its a great way for the whole family to spend a day adventuring. Make sure to let AWOI that Bobbi from Realisitic Guide to a BucketList said hello!
Have a great time adventuring this week!
