74. Burger at the Hungry Onion

If you haven't seen Clint Eastwood in "Bronco Billy", pull it up on Netflix and start watching. It is a 70's lengendary film. In the first 30 minutes of the movie, Clint (or rather Billy) makes a stop at the Hungry Onion right here in Meridian, Idaho. Which is just one of the reasons you see it here on the Bucket List. I picked a sunny day to head over and check them out. The Hungry Onion is an old school American food drive up. It reminds me of the burger joint in "American Graffiti" (and if you haven't seen THAT really need to catch up on your classics). You can drive up and the great staff comes right to your window to take your order and then brings it out and places it on that same window. Curb Service!! I haven't even told you about the food. Incredible! I ate until I literally had to move my car seat back so I could drive. My dessert....a blackberry shake!

Location: 334 N. Main Street in Meridian, Idaho. Take the Meridian exit off of I-84 and head towards downtown Meridian. It is on the right after the racetrack. It takes about 15 minutes to get there from downtown Boise keeping on I-84 and depending on traffic.

Special Notes: Kid friendly if you don't mind them eating in the car. My son loved it! It was an adventure and then we went home and watched "Bronco Billy". It was a memory day in the making.
There is only curb service. There is no dine in. However, they do have outdoor seating in the way of picnic tables if you want to get out of your vehicle.
It is open everyday from 11 am until 9 pm serving lunch and dinner.
Prices are very affordable so you can take the whole family even on a limited budget.
Make it a day of fun for the whole family. Lunch or dinner and then a visit with Eastwood via "Bronco Billy". Another of Idaho's famous moments.
